Find new sites through The Webby Awards

Webbys

So The Webby Awards are in the public voting phase. I wouldn’t know anything about them, but a couple of the sites that I visit on a regular basis were nominated and have their “vote for us!” banners up. I figured that if some of the sites that I like were nominated, there was a good chance that I’d find some other interesting sites by browsing through the voting section on the Webby website voting page.

The Design Observer won me over with their post featuring a slideshow of thirty tables of contents. I’m sure there are other posts on the site for sane people too.

My Moleskine is a beautiful compilation of someone’s moleskine notebook. I have a moleskine notebook too. It sits above my keyboard and I scribble ideas it in that will never come to fruition.

Speaking of beautiful artish stuff, Odd Wall is a great gathering of graffiti.

Yelp looks like a handy site for finding reviews on local businesses and restaurants and such. Of course, if you live in a tiny town like me, there’s a good chance your town won’t be listed. You’ll just have to try that Dunkin Donuts out for yourself.

The site design of the Grindhouse website is pretty awesome. I really lucked out seeing the whole experience in theaters, me and forty other people in America.

Got Character is a site based around character concepts and designs. They’re currently in the middle of a community contest for the best character design. Their site design is also worth checking out. It’s got …character.

I’m sure there are a bunch of other awesome sites up for votes too, but I’d have to actually visit all of them to say for sure. You could do that for me, and just let me know which other ones are good. How about that?
