Foxboro Hot Tubs: Green Day 2.0

Are you a fan of Green Day but afraid to admit it? It is no secret that a lot of people have jumped off of the Green Day band wagon once “American Idiot” came out a few years back. The common saying heard from a Green Day fan is “I only like to listen to old Green Day.” This usually means Albums that were released before “Warning” was released. Well people, you are in for a treat.

Try searching for a band called Foxboro Hot Tubs. These guys may sound like a Green Day wanna be band playing 1960s music. Guess what? It isn’t a wanna be group, but actually Green Day!
Green Day decided that with the newer style of Green Day it would be a better idea to start a side project to continue playing a style closer to the 3-chord pop punk that made them the band they are today. The band is the exact members of Green Day, not an idea like Boxcar Racer was where only 2 of the 3 members of Blink-182 took part.

With Foxboro Hot Tubs first release of Stop Drop and Roll!!!, Green Day is bringing themselves back to their roots with the music that grew up with. The sound is far different then the “American Idiot” sound of the latest Green Day album. This 1960s twist is good on the ears and with the band only playing smaller style clubs it means a more intimate encounter with the future Rock n Roll Hall of Fame band.
